early morning adventure..........
last night i went to bed around 10:30pm after a lovely 3 hour conversation w/ my darling ali. as i lay in bed, i hear the voice mail ring on my phone, so i go and check it out. the hubby and his buddy are having a great time on their bikes at first thursday and are now headed downtown - "he'll see me later, he's being good, love you". i then go back to bed. i wake up at 2:08am w/ the light still on and no husband. i fall back asleep and at 2:57am, i see him standing at the end of our bed w/ out his shirt on, looking totally distraught. he's so upset, that he turns on the lights and tells me his story of what's been going on. here's a short version of the events that lead to him being at the foot of our bed from the phone call at 10:30pm, to his arrival at 2:57am.the boys park their cars at the schwin (sp) store. ride to south congress. ride back up to downtown. hit sidebar, then attempt emo's. tim doesn't go, his buddy does. his buddy a little while later meets him back at sidebar. they unlock their bikes and head back to the cars. the buddy almost falls down, he's a little tipsy. tim ends up looking back to check on him and ends up crashing his bike and falling into a ravine, it's about a 10 foot drop. luckily he's ok, minus being totally sore, bruised and scratched. bike is good. they go on to the cars and tim realizes he no longer has his courier bag w/ him which is holding his wallet, keys and cell phone. the buddy decides he needs to 'sleep it off' in his car, while tim rides his bike all the way back downtown in search of his bag. the door guy at sidebar says "dude you totally had it on when you got on your bike". tim at this point isn't so sure. he's positive he had it when he unlocked the bikes at sidebar, but doesn't recall it after that. he then rides back to the cars. well, now it's only one car. the buddy has gone home. tim is stuck w/ no keys, no money, no cell phone, in the middle of nowhere at 2am. he then rides uphill all the way home. it took an hour and when he finally gets home, he doesn't have the pass key to get in the apartments. he has to crawl under the car gate on his belly and the gate ends up scratching off one of his moles. his back is now covered in blood at the end of our bed and i have no idea what to do.i get up, throw on some clothes, find some flashlights, his spare car key and we head back downtown. it's now 3:15am. while driving to sidebar, where we think it probably is, we look on the paths they took. no bag. finally we get to sidebar and thankfully KC was still there and was super sweet to us and helped us look to no avail. at this point, we're pretty positive he left it on the street and some homeless person is totally stoked. we begin to head home, upset, tired and dreading the workday ahead. as we're driving home we decide to stop and look at the crash site again. he totally wasn't kidding, it was just about a 10 foot drop thru sticker bushes, landing on gravel and rock. we search w/ our flashlights and see nothing. then i decide, maybe if i call his phone we'll hear it and be able to find it by sound vs. sight. i call. nothing. i call again and i can hear it vibrating and ringing. tim thinks i've changed my ringtone to match his, cause it can't be that easy. we turn around and the camo colored bag is behind us in the grass on the opposite side of the crash site. everything is in it and nothing has been touched! i can't believe this story ended w/ us actually finding his bag. i guess this whole "spread the good vibe thing is working". it's like throwing a little positive energy out there helped us out. anywho...we get home a little before 5am. the alarm goes off at 7am, i'm still awake. tim calls in w/ his story and is staying home. i set the alarm for 8am and finally pass out. alarm goes off and i have to go to work. i'm literally the walking dead right now, but we found all of his stuff, i'm getting paid for being here - writing this and he gets to spend the day recovering (which is so deserved).and that's the story of my early morning adventure.enjoy your weekend and remember to spread some positive energy!!!xoxo. kat.
